Vehicle Details
I got this truck with plans of making it a patina rod but I have too many projects going on. The motor is a straight 6 308 out of a Hudson Hornet and it runs beautifully, hook up a battery and some gas and press the factory push button start and it starts right up. The motor was rebuilt about 20ish years ago and I just put new oil and spark plugs and such to freshen it up. I’ve cleaned out most of the interior and undercarriage, I a bench seat too for it too, it’s just sitting in the shed. The only rust is in the water trap areas which are at the bottom of the doors and middle back band of the cab, but the rest of the truck is solid metal as far as I can tell and all body lines of the car fit nicely. They only made around 3,500 of these that year and 9000ish total. The dash design is one of the most unique I’ve seen, especially for a car of this age. The car looks to be originally a blue grey but was painted over with pinkish house paint many years ago which makes it look rustier then it actually is. I started to do the brakes by taking out the master cylinder but they need to be finished in order for it to be a driver. The truck rolls very easy and that gap in the bed is from its life as a farm truck where they had an extra gas tank in there.
