    ONE PAIR 3" x 3" CAST HINGES J.L. HAVEN, CINCINNATI VERY NICE CIRCA 1850 (11560)
    Wonderful matched pair of J.L. Haven, Cincinnati, O., 3 x 3, heavy iron hinges, circa 1850-1860.
    Haven had a huge hardware store in downtown Cincinnati on Plumm Street.  Not sure if he made the hinges or bought them under a private label arrangement with Miles Greenwood who cranked out thousands and thousands of steel hinges at his Walnut and Canal Street foudry.
    In any even, if Greenwood held a patent they he likely manufactured these as they are identical to those bearing his imprint.
    We have bead blasted this pair and the J.L. Haven Cincinnati, O signature is at least vaguely visible on most of these (see pics).  Wonderful condition, they can be used again for another 180 years!
