PRODUCT DETAILS:
This Everhot PEX Crimp Tool is for use with 1/2" PEX copper crimp rings also includes a Go-No-Go gage and a crescent wrench for tool calibration and adjustment. The 1/2" crimp jaw can be replaced with other jaw sizes (3/8" through 1") upon necessity. This product does not come with a case.
Crimp Rings vs. St. Steel Clamps:
PEX crimp tool is used together with Copper Crimp Rings and this method remains one of the most popular and reliable ways to connect PEX.
Unlike with Stainless Steel Clamps, which only tighten the ring over the surface of the pipe, Copper Crimp Rings firmly compress over every single point of contact with the pipe.
The pressure that PEX Crimp Tool implements is tremendous, and when applied to the Copper Crimp Ring, provides reliable and professional connection (assuming that the tool is properly calibrated and the connection is done properly). With Stainless Steel Clamps, however, it is always hard to tell how well the connection is done.

Tool Calibration:
Before making a crimp connection, the tool has to be properly calibrated. In order to check whether the tool is calibrated or not, make a sample connection and check it with a Go-No-Go gage. If the connection gages properly, no adjustment is required.
If the connection is a No-Go, follow the simple instructions in the user's manual (supplied with the kit) to calibrate the tool.
